Tom Basher

Experience

Tom has worked in regional school improvement since 2019 as an adviser with a  specialism in Geography, the Humanities, numeracy and outdoor learning. He also supports on the delivery of the leadership and NQT programmes. Tom supports the maths and numeracy team with the numeracy professional learning offer.

Tom has worked in education since 1998 and spent 20 years teaching geography and BTEC courses in a Carmarthenshire secondary school. He was the school Duke of Edinburgh's Award co-ordinator and  continues to volunteer as an assessor.

He has examined at GCSE level for 18 years with the OCR and WJEC. Tom also spent 10 years supporting the work of the Earth Science Education Unit based in Keele University as a facilitator. He completed his Leadership and Management diploma in 2019.
